According to CBCOMMERCE.EU, Belgian consulting agency, the EU’s online sales industry will continue to grow in the next few years, and this growth is mainly due to the field of second -hand clothing. In 2021, the share of the EU’s online fashion market was 119 billion euros, accounting for 25% of the entire online fashion market. By 2025, it is expected to increase by 50%, and the market share will increase from 25%to 33%in 2025.
However, the macroeconomic deterioration after the epidemic and the inflation pressure brought by the Russian and Ukraine War is increasingly affecting the purchase behavior of customers, and the clothing industry is facing pressure. European cross -border business research shows that the new vertical fields (such as second -hand clothing) of the clothing industry are becoming more and more important in the market. Therefore, the main trend of the next few years is C2C sales, because people will find new ways to save and reduce consumption.
Even so, the ranking of the main participants in the field of online clothing in the European Union is still led by B2C brands such as Zalando, Amazon and Inditex. ZARA ranked third with 6.2% sales. The first place is the German e -commerce platform ZAALANDO, with a market share of 11.7%. The second is Amazon with a share of 7.6%.
