Data face! On the surface, Europe said to get rid of dependence on China, but the import volume reached a record high!

According to reports, although the domestic epidemic rebound and blockade measures have affected the import and export some time ago, Europe’s procurement and sales business still highly depends on China. From January to April, European imports from China accounted for 15.6%of the total overseas procurement of such products, which was the highest value in the past four years.

In 2017, 16.1%of European fashion imports came from China and other Asian countries; in the following years, Europe’s dependence on China gradually declined: clothing purchased from China from January to April 2018 accounted for 14.8%of the total imports of imports; In the three years, the share further declined: In the same period of 2019, fashion procurement from China was 14.3%, 14.1%in 2020, and 13.6%in 2021. However, this trend reversed in early 2022.

In addition to imports, Europe also depends on sales in the Chinese market. From January 2017 to April 2017, China purchased 1.2%of European export clothing, and the Chinese market gradually increased its procurement in the European market. The first four months of 2018 accounted for 1.4%of the total sales. It accounts for 1.5%of total sales. From January 2020 to April 2020, the proportion fell to 1.3% of sales. In the first four months of 2021, China once again increased the clothing purchased from Europe, accounting for 2.02% of the total.
